New hack and Rumors Please check this

I voted no because I agree with evd there is alot of garbage posted there.However the people will post there garbage in other places then.Maybe we should call the new section the garbage can rumors.That way we won't have to worry about what is posted there because the name speaks for itself.Only my opinion.

Here's the problem some of the community just feel that they only want good news. Get used to it. Remember there are polls to gather information about this stuff and usually the majority rule. If you don't like this particular section don't read it. the only person(s) that actually need to review are those who actually take the time to verify whether or not the information is viable enough to use. I say let them decide what info. needs to be worth the trouble to determine whats worth it or not.

I hate rumors .... because 99% of the ppl do not give out were they got the rumor or how they heard it or how they got it
I will listen to a rumor only if it has facts to check out if it was posted or a place someone to check out about it
Like you said it will only cause problems so I voted no on the rumor mill
we need facts so the members get the correct information ..... even if it is bad information like they will not get there FTA up again and they have to go a different way to get TV and spend some money
So we can help them out getting what they need to get going again in this hobby
Like any hobby you spend money and I have spent a lot myself and have a lot of useless parts sitting here
so you got my vote and the reason why .... I will be doing this sport till the day they quit broadcasting or come up with a system that one can not get into because it is a 2 way system and that way they will watch you all the time like cable
I can get movies when ever I want and can get a lot of birds to watch just about anything I want, so I am happy I have a sub and information from the net and the newest movies out and the shows I need
So we do not need the rumorer's to get members upset

Boy this was a tough one.

I voted Yes cause the pros to keeping it out weighed the cons when I ran this issue from my mind.

Yes many rumours are just crap. Now most ppl know this but some members may take as gospel. If a rumour posted is crap, it can be addressed to warn others that are uncertain, to know the facts and determine for themselves once it has been rebuttalled. Then once the rumour has been confirmed to be Crap. we can state this in the final post and close the thread, for all to read. Deleting it would serve no purpose cause it just may prompt someone elese to post the same or similar rumour again.

Other Rumours end up being true, example (Bogus files being posted). Certain sites being hacked and under the control of BEV and DN.

Rumours are posted everywhere on the Internet Sites and many ppl come to trusted sites to try to know fact from fiction so not to have a place where ppl can come to to discern fact from fiction would be an injustice to our members, I believe.

That is why I voted Yes.

I voted yes, and here's why.
Rumors are another resource that members and staff can use to see what's being put out there either good or bad. It's up to the person reading it to take it for what it's worth. Usually when i read a rumor it start's out with...I don't know if it's true or words to that effect which gives the reader a far idea of the contents being just what it is a Rumor.
Also they do usually start up a post conversation on it's validity. And it's always nice to read what other people have to say about a subject, either good or bad.
Staff just need to keep an eye on the section and after a post has been proven wrong close it.
