Need help!!!! Problem with Downloading...

I am open to any an all thoughts and sugestions. let me explain what has happened. First of all I am not a PC nerd but not dumb either. I have 8 years pgm and data processing behind me.... I have cleared all cookies, cleared old files, disabled firewall, swiched to firefox, reboted several times, run antivirus software and reg software and anything else I can think of. The problem is... I go to the file area as a not vip member so far, select a file, wait the 60 seconds it says to and then the logo Download your file pops up and I click on it. It then tells me that I am trying to download files to fast and that I have to wait anywhere form 3 seconds to 57 seconds between downloads. "I have not downloaded anything yet". LOL I try this a couple of times and then it tells me have exceeded my daily downloads. I still have not goten one download. I have not had a problem setting up downloads before but maybe this 59 year old brain has a cobweb loose somewhere and it needs one of you to knock it out of the way.....LOL Please help.. explain how you clear your cookies please.

First I went to tools and deleated cookies, history and files there. Exited the web and then went to the control panel and did a search and find for cookies on the whole computer and deleated all of them, even on drives not associated with web sites just in case. then I rebooted, did a scan, defraged and anything else I could think of. That is it so far.

Do you have a pop up blocker installed as this will prevent the files from downloading.

When you click on the download link it does open a pop up window.

D__N......... am going to bet this may, I say may be the problem...Yes I do have th dang thing enabled and at the end of this post It will not be. Thanks for the info. I will try this now... LOLAs long as I have been using pc's and do something this dumb...lol . I told you someone needed to swipe that cobweb from my brain.....I am going to try that not..Be back soon.

That was not the problem, at least so far. I deleated all cookies again, files, history, the works and rebooted. Checked to make sure that nothing else was running and tried again and when it finished the 60 second countdown, I hit the download file now words and again it came back with "Slow Down! You are trying to download files too quickly. You must wait 57 seconds before you may download another file. I still have not downloaded ONE file...LOL... I am at a loss. I am going to try my apple lap top and see if I have a problem. It may be something with my pc that i am overlooking and I will figuer it out later.Be back soon.........

OK evd & Renegade,

Or anyone else. I am REALLY at a loss now. I switched to my IBOOK and tried a download and the exact same thing. I do not have any pop up blocker here and there is nothing else running as you know on a mac along with the browser. Hopefully I will have the extra funds when I get my next SS check and get the membership. I am looking forward to becoming a full member here. Going to get out of here for a few now and take some meds for this injury. (Workmans comp from 93). No relief in sight so meds is all the help I got for the duration...oh well. Thanks for the help so far and maybe we can get to the bottom somehow.

problem is while you having this issue and test different way every test count against your max allow to download per day .

i will make you a special account to test for a week .
