Must receiver using IKS be connected to the internet at all times?

I just read the IKS for newbies... My question is...Must a receiver using IKS be connected to the internet at all times? Or only when it goes down and a new key is needed?

That is why I am personally skeptical about IKS. If you do decide to use it, then your IP adress can be seen by the man at all times. Scary stuff, dude. My opinion is to be patient. Good things will happen soon enough.

Thanks Dime, I'm not diggin' the idea of my IP address being out there like that either.

it is my understanding that n-fusion has a new bin with the option of stand alone or iks also there is the proxy option so there is an optional iks receiver i am in no way promoting one receiver over another just answering your question

Yes it has to be connected at least while you are watching it. however if you turn your receiver off from the back when you are not useing it. It drops the connection to your router.
