I was wondering about 1 thing ....all of my other receiver but the cw ones I do not use the loader and then the file ....I just load the new update right from the stick and do not use the loader from day one
so like I asked can it be done without the loader and save a step? or do I have to use the loader so the updates will work?
Have you tried this approach yet to see if it will work to cut out a step?
But still great information for a person who has not tried the new box out yet ... good post

if any stb can be loaded using the usb stick DO IT. from what I have seen 9 out 10 problems installing a bin is caused by the loading it thru the loader/cable. Elimanating the loader by using a usb stick leaves one less thing to go wrong. The X-1 AT this time can not use the serial port to load a bin. Do not load X-1 thru the rs-232 port. Until X2u or me says to. As no loader will work at this time.
