| Hey bud---been racking my brain & since you live in Texas. Don`t know how old you are but in the late 60`s & early 70`s there was a little town just about 1/2 hr drive south-east of Houston that used to have a big chili cook-off every year around July 4. I frequented this place a few times while playing baseball during our schedule, our games were in Houston but this was a MUST STOP to bring the rookies. One of their booths served "Texas Spagetti" where we tested the rookies LOL , a few of us kept in touch over the years but for the life of us we can`t remember the name of the cook-off. Ever heard of it? Was semi-famous at the time for it`s questionable ingredients. |

| Their meatballs were exactly that !! Calves testicles---a rookie must!! A rare tough, sinewy yet spongy treat smothered in meat sauce. I`m just turning 59 yrs was there in `68-`71. Have been back a few times in Dallas-Fort Worth area with hockey/goalie school I do some work for but never had enough time to find out much about it. Old ball players sure remember tho! |
