This is my review of Xfactor X-1

I was fortunute to get to test this new STB

well as all new STBS I have tested and wrote reviews b4 this is a brand new stb with great support behind
it

Support is the main thing behind any STBS old are new as long as they stand behind there product Im all for it

now back to the Xfactor X-1

Im going to be honest with this new stb as all new stbs they have bugs to work out and yes Xfactor

has sum bugs that is now being worked on as I write this

but loading is easy and simple with the usb stick

ok I got this unit nice looking box it came in and opened it up had plastic all wrapped around it

had the manual that comes with all stbs had RCA cable but did not have the usaul 4X1 switch Im used to getting

with all other stbs did not have the null cable that is used from pc to stb but did have remote and batteries

a smaller remote han any other stbs that I have but still nice and simple

ok took the Xfactor and hooked it up to tv that I use to test with and hooked sat cable in

looked at the instructions to loading the xfactor for the first time



''Starting with Factory firmware:

1-Load the latest "ALL CODE" ***p.abs file (1.13p.abs), this will replace the factory G.U.I with a new G.U.I. which will have a completely new look to it. Once the new software is loaded you will be able to load bin files.

2-Load the latest "MAIN CODE" ***p.bin file if needed for the latest patch. (1.14p.bin)

3-First time installation: select desired birds then press the "RED" button to proceed to antenna set up. Select your settings (notice the default settings) for each bird then press "RED button again to proceed to satellite scan. No need to change any of these default settings. Arrow down to search and press "OK" and let her rip..

-All channel editing is done through the channel list.

-When the info bar is present you can press the "RED" button for single channel EPG.''

ok foolwed the instructions unziiped all files and added them to the usb stick than added the current file as well

and inserted the usb stick and instanly the usb popped up and did what the instructions said to do

and loaded the current file and waited til it rebooted

than went to

than hit the red button on remote and it went to antenna setup

those are my sats Im useing now with a 4x1 switch


after setting my dish settings and scanning both sats

I noticed it scanned both sats together than I exit out to tv nd showed AUTOROLL PROCESSING

SO I went to menu

and scrolled down to CAS and clicked on advance and seen AR turned off so I turned it to ON and exit

all the way back out of everything and waited for the keys to roll within 5 min had pic

now the pic is very clear and I think is very good

I mean it has a very good n clear pic so I went and check to see if all channels are there and noticed

that all wasnt so I hit SAT button on remote

a list pops up

Sateillite
1.all sats
2.echostar 8.10
3.echostar 7
4.Dish network

but havent found any SID to get the channels in order that Im used to with my other stbs
but as I said b4 still has some bugs to be worked on so maybe they are working on it

I still has some more testing on this new stb to do

but pros and cons

start with the pros first

great pic
fast scanning but have seen faster
very user friendly
easy loading
easy to find ur way around
great EPG still messing around with that

cons

have to manual change local remapping
found SID all is on but still missing channels and are not in order
have to keep turning AR on turn it off the back and back on have to reset AR
fact reset have to turn AR on


thats just a few so far thats bieng as honest as I can be for now

but over all its new and support is great so a list 1-10 10 being best I give this new stb a 9

but I think it will get better in time and Ill stand behind it as well

this review will be continued at a later time he he he still have more further testing to do
