Disney (and by implication, Apple) is joining the race to create the enabling technology for TV everywhere-anytime-anyway, etc. with an initiative - as it told the Wall Street Journal - called Keychest. Using a different logic - access via a key no matter the device used over the internet - Keychest joins the trials by Time Warner Cable with Time Warner and Comcast with others in the wings. Which brings up some interesting questions as Google's Android and Apple's iPhone technologies seem to aim in the same overall direction. The operating system wars are underway again. Note, too, that Motorola's next phone uses Android ... how much longer before that's adapted for set-top boxes as an integrating tool? ---
