Police nab 7 in Surrey marijuana grow-op robbery

VANCOUVER (CBC) - Seven people were arrested Wednesday after police broke up an apparent robbery at a marijuana grow-op on a property in Surrey, B.C.



RCMP officers were conducting surveillance on two sizable properties in the 3800 block of 176th Street in the south Surrey area, Sgt. Roger Morrow said.


A vehicle pulled up to one of the five-acre properties Wednesday and four people exited, Morrow said.


The robbery "was taking place in full view of drug section members," he said in a news release.


The Mounties stepped in and arrested the four people from the vehicle and three more who were on the property.


Officers also discovered up to 4,000 marijuana plants inside a warehouse on the property, Morrow said.


Police did not release information about the people who were arrested.
