 news Gates to propose defense add-ons, not just cuts Gates to propose defense add-ons, not just cuts 1 hour, 2 minutes ago WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Defense Secretary Robert Gates will propose to add "a lot of" U.S. capabilities even as he proposes to cut certain arms programs at a briefing starting at 1:30 p.m. (1530 GMT) on Monday, a Pentagon spokesman said. "He's going to be adding a lot of things to capabilities that we need to," Bryan Whitman told reporters. (Reporting by Jim Wolf; Editing by Tim Dobbyn)
