West Palm Beach, FL (AHN) - If it were a head-to-head battle between each of the company's DVRs, DirecTV may get the edge over Dish Network.

Dish offers the ability to obtain two separate DVR's in the same home, however, making it the superior offering.

For a fee, usually about $100 a customer can get two distinctly operating DVR's.

How it works is, in my home for instance the living room and beedroom are connected to the same DVR and therefore can have the same programming on it.

The user can also choose to have a recording set up in the bedroom (in my case), freeing up the living room for other programming.

The one downside, if I am using the equipment properly, is that one can't watch something differently on the "main" TV than what is being recorded.

The DirecTV DVR does allow one to watch a program, while recording a different program.

However, with a second separately operating DVR that Dish offers, that DirecTV does not, up to two more programs can be recorded at the same time.

Additionally, the user has the ability to watch one program on the second DVR while still taping a program.

Advantage goes to Dish Network in the DVR race, though it would have been better if the FCC had allowed the pair to merge.
