• India has seen a channel growth of 30% and due to the expansion broadcasters are raising their carriage fees. According to Screen Digest broadcasters have increased fees between 80-100% over the last several years.
• India's Dish TV reported a net loss of Rs561 million with revenues increasing 49% to Rs2.57 billion from Rs1.73 billion. The DTH operator expects its losses to fall in the coming months.
• Kabel BW has penned a deal with On Demand Deutschland to launch a VOD service on its network. The service is set to launch in early 2010.
• Denmark’s KPN is set to launch HDTV in the second quarter of 2010. The operator is reporting growth in its TV services and expects to reach over 1 million subs in 2010.
• Japan’s Sky Perfect JSAT Holdings has updated its forecast with an increase for the just-finished quarter citing improved business conditions. Previously, revenues were forecast at ¥69 billion but have now been revised ¥69.5 billion. However, operating income is now forecast some 35% higher, at ¥8.2 billion.•
