Satellite : EchoStar Goes South of the Border

DISH -- EchoStar on Tuesday announced a joint venture with MVS Communicaciones to launch a satellite TV service in Mexico entitled, wait for it, Dish Mexico. The service will rollout first in Puebla and Leon before expanding to cities nationwide.

DVR -- TiVo in Tuesday launched TiVo Mobile, a free web-based application that allow subscribers to program their TiVo DVR from any web-connected mobile phone.

RESEARCH -- Another day, another opinion about the holiday shopping season. On Tuesday, market research firm The NPD Group said it expects consumers to cut back on technology purchases this year, citing figures that found a third of one-time flat panel TV buyers and a quarter of digital camera buyers won't go through with their purchases this holiday in light of the current economic climate.
