Dish Network Adds Hustler HD

Washington, D.C. (October 15, 2009) -- Dish Network has added Hustler HD to its lineup of high-def channels.


This is not the first time that a satellite TV service has offered an adult network in high-def. Several years ago, DIRECTV carried Spice HD for a little more than a year. However, DIRECTV now does not carry an adult channel in HD.

The Voom satellite service offered Playboy HD in its lineup of HD channels before going out of business.

Dish Network has yet to add Hustler HD under its Adult Programming section at its web site so no pricing was available this morning. Normally, Dish charges a large monthly or nightly fee to watch an adult channel.

Dish Adds New HD

Today Dish Network launched a new national HD service, and this one might get a few folks excited, for others not so much.

The new channel that launched today was Hustler HD; yes you read that correctly adult HD programming has come to Dish Network.

But HD adult fare isn’t nothing new to satellite, when VOOM was a satellite service they carries Spice in HD, and for a brief while DirecTV carried the Spice HD service late night as a pay per view offering.

Dish Network today added the Hustler HD channel as part of the reshuffling of its adult channel lineup.

I don’t know about you, but I don’t know if I want to see some things in HD. This is one of those times when I think would actually prefer a standard definition version.

Damn You Sirius XM!

I really wish I knew what they were thinking in New York City at the Sirius XM headquarters.

This weekend I went to tune into one of my favorite shows on XM on the 80’s channel only to hear a former MTV VJ say that Casey Casem has been retired from the 80’s channel. Yes folks the 80’s on 8 has replaced the classic origional American Top 40 shows with Casey Casem with new Top 40 countdown shows hosted by MTV VJ’s.

This sucks.

The AT40 shows were some of the best programming they had on the 80’s channel. Whenever I tuned in (and I tuned in on most weekends) Casey would take me back to the 80’s where I could actually remember things from my childhood as the music played. Some episodes I could actually remember listening to them when I was a kid.

AT40 on the 80’s channel was a true look at the 80’s music and not the water downed 80’s play lists we have now on Sirius XM.

The original AT40’s with Casey Casem continues to be played on the 70’s on 7. I hope that Sirius XM sees the error they made and return the true king of countdowns back to his rightful spot.

Why does Sirius XM keep killing the good programming they carry? Its almost like they don’t want people to subscribe.
