Satellite : DIRECTV, Sirius XM Bundle In The Works?

Now that Liberty Media has bailed out Sirius XM, can customers expect to see bundled services that include DIRECTV and the satellite radio service.

Maybe, according to remarks make Wednesday by Liberty Media CEO Gregg Maffei. On a call with industry analysts discussing his company's quarterly financial results, Maffei reportedly said: "One could talk about or imagine bundles, probably the $80 [per month] DIRECTV product offering free trials of the $11 Sirius XM product more likely than the other way around. I certainly think those are things we have talked about."

Maffei went on to explain that Sirius CEO Mel Karmazin is "enthused" about the potential for product bundling with Liberty and said he hopes to be able to proceed on something that is "beneficial for both parties."
