 UFC signs Phil Baroni  After being released by Strikeforce earlier in the week ATO has learned that Phil Baroni has signed with the UFC. “The New York Bad Ass” was 3-4 in Strikeforce and released after losing his last fight to Joe Riggs via unanimous decision in June. He fought on smaller shows winning three straight last summer before his losing to Riggs. Baroni fought in the UFC from 2001-2005 compiling a 3-5 record. His biggest win was probably the 18 second knockout of Dave Menne at UFC 39. He also had the controversial fight with Evan Tanner at UFC 45 that resulted in Baroni being suspended for four months for striking a ref after the ref stepped in and stopped the fight. No word yet on Baroni’s next opponent.
