Randy Couture has a busy schedule outside the cage -- but not so busy he can't squeeze in Antonio Nogueira.
Confirming a fight that had been rumored for months, the UFC announced Monday that Randy Couture and Antonio "Minotauro" Nogueira will stand opposite one another at UFC 102 in Portland, Ore., on Aug. 29.

The announcement comes at a busy time for Couture, who is still filming Sylvester Stallone's "Expendables" and apparently has committed to chairing Gina Carano's training camp for Cristiane "Cyborg" Santos on Aug. 15. Couture will be 46 years old when the bell tolls -- impressive, but still a ways off from Ron Van Clief's 51 candles when he fought Royce Gracie in 1994.

"I'm honored to face such a great fighter as Randy Couture," Nogueira was quoted as saying in the release. "I wanted to fight him for some time now, and I know to become a legend you have to beat a legend."

I think Nogueira fit that definition years ago, but a little humility is never a bad thing.

I can't wait for this fight. 2 of the sports GREATEST fighters toe 2 toe!!! Just the fact that it's Nogueira vs Couture just gives me goose bumps. Yes, they may be outta their prime, but for ANY MMA fan, this has to go down as one of the classic fights the UFC has ever put on. Win, lose, or draw, I love these guys, and am very honored to have watched them over the years.
