| Mirko Cro Cop leaves UFC for Dream ![]() (UFC Photo) Moments after eye-poking his way to victory over Mostapha Al-Turk at UFC 99 in Germany, Mirko Cro Cop bolted from the UFC to the Japan-based Dream, according to Yahoo! Sports. “He didn’t keep his word,” UFC president Dana White told Yahoo! MMA writer Kevin Iole. White said he’d had a two-hour talk with Filipovic on the day Filipovic texted and asked to be able to return. “He talked about honor and all this other [expletive] and he [expletived] me. Pretty chump move to call White and beg for a one-fight deal -- but only against a tomato can -- then turn around and leave for another MMA organization. Should this be true, it looks like Cro Cop learned a lot from his time in Croatia's parliament. If it's just a money move, I can't blame Cro Cop since I'm fairly certain everyone of us would leave our current job if an offer to do the same thing for more money came along. Still, it comes off as sketchy, at best. It's a WWE good guy turns bad guy move. Remember when The Rock joined the Corporation? We're predicting that Cro Cop winds up on the same side of Dana White's brain as Tito Ortiz.

| I loved watching Cro- Cop during his Pride years. Best left high head kick in the sport. BAR NONE!! His luck hasn't been there in the UFC. He's only fought 1 upper ranked guy in the Heavyweight division, Gabriel Gonzaga, and he can't catch a break!! Here's what's goin on: He is so used to fighting in a ring instead of a cage. Hell, even after he signed with the UFC, he STILL trained in a ring. Trust me, from experience, it's a whole different game training/fighting in a cage than in a ring. You have to learn how to use the cage to your advantage. If you're on your back, you can use the cage to get up. If you're on top position, you can pin the opponent's head up against the cage and drop down elbows a la Tito Ortiz. Just a couple of examples. In a ring, your head slides through the ropes, and you can't use it to help get up. Then the ref just re-sets you in the middle of the ring in the same position and you're still in a bad spot, gettin pounded on. DREAM uses a RING. Now, Cro-Cop may be back to his old comfortable self again. Lets all hope we see those beautiful head kicks again one day.
