Dana White: “Fedor is a [Expletive] Joke”

After Strikeforce announced the signing of Fedor Emelianenko earlier today, the MMA community has been on hold until the , or more importantly president Dana White, responded to their second failed attempt to in the world’s best heavyweight fighter.
“I’m in Abu Dhabi right now and my reaction is Fedor is a [expletive] joke,” White stated on the heels of this morning’s surprising announcement. “He turns down a huge deal and the opportunity to face the best in the world to fight nobodies for no money!”
During last week’s highly anticipated conference call, White stated the UFC offered Team Fedor everything except co-promoting MMA events, the that M-1 Global covets the most.
“How are they going to help us co-promote?” White said. “They’re going to help us? That [expletive] might work in Russia (but) not here. How do you deal with something like this?
“We did everything possible for this deal. We didn’t hold back. It’s crazy to turn down a deal like this. We went above and beyond. We have been able to sign the best fighters in the world over the last 10 years, so to not be able to sign this guy [wasn't our fault].”
Regardless of the drama and red tape involved in inking Emelianenko, White was still hell-bent on obtaining the Russian’s services.
“I’m ready to make a deal,” White emphatically stated. “If they want to make a deal, they can call me right now. We want this. I want this so badly you guys don’t even know.”
Obviously they didn’t want him bad enough, as Strikeforce gladly stepped up to the plate to bring on Emelianenko. By allowing M-1 Global to co-promote with them, Strikeforce has now put themselves in a position to compete against the UFC.
No telling how legitimate of a threat they will be, however this signing definitely helps them dip into the UFC’s fan base.

I'm so freakin tired of this crap. Fedor's management is a joke. He DESERVES to fight in the UFC. He needs to prove he's the best. He ain't gonna be proving anything to anybody until he comes to the UFC. And, that looks like it will never happen...

I totally agree with you guys------Fedor is no "expletive joke"--he wouldn`t have been a expletive joke if he had signed with the UFC as Dana White wanted, they`d be promoing the h--l out of him. This is becoming more & more WWE everyday. Do not cast aside the idea that this whole storyline could be a promotional idea from the get go. Stranger things have happened in the quest for $$$$.

Exactly. He's gonna start riding down the list of pound for pound best in the world if he doesn't fight the best in the world. In my opinion, he has 2 other beasts ahead of him. That would be Anderson Silva, and Georges St. Pierre. At least when he fought for PRIDE, he had an upper level of competition. Hey y'all, can you tell me a LEGIT heavyweight in Strikeforce to put up against Fedor? Not me. The only REAL names that come to mind in Strikeforce is, Nick Diaz, Frank Shamrock, Jake O Shields, Robbie Lawler, and the best fighter that orginazation has in Cung Le. NONE of those guys are heavyweights. So, unless he signs with the UFC, his legacy will go down the drain.

Sooooo true-----I`ve always coached my kids at whatever level they play----"to be the best you have to beat the best"-----any thing less, you have no claim to the distinction of being the best. Fedor has shown me no right to claim the title of the best. Good call Satguy2
