FTA SV 360 Premier Newbie Help

I have just joined the site and I know I will have a ton of questions. Thus far I have downloaded the necessary files to get everything running. Thanks to some help files I founf installation was pretty easy. I'm reveiving E* 7 just fine with plenty of channels. Tho I'm finding lots of duplicate channels. Like with PBS, it's listed 7 or 8 times. Same program on all of them. I'm also seeing information and stuff from Dn. Is that normal.

In the same area as E* 7 is their a better satillite to connect to?
If I were to replace my current dish with on with a dual LNB would I be able to receive more than one satillite at a time?

Also is their a better choice of satillites to hook up to than E* 7?

Ther are diffent stations that are the same network (ie PBS), they are from differnt places but with the same feed. If your dish has a skew adjust you can add another lnb and with some adjustment and patience you can get 110 and 119 which would be best choices.

Never do a Blind Scan on the Circular Sats. It will give you double's just do a regular scan. I would get a Dish 500 with a twin or quad LNB the twin will allow 2 receiver's the quad will allow 4 and able to receive 2 Satalites 110 and 119 is all you need for standard definetion. Yes getting the information channels is normal.

Thanks for all of the great replies. It's going to take a while to digest all of the info. Since I'm new to all of this I feel like a duck out of water. I usually catch on rather quickly with new stuff and I hope it's the same here....

Oh yeah, which satillite is 100?

I'm an old fart student at on of the local colleges, I fix computers, and build web sites to keep busy.

Yes believe just regular scan would been fine..
Factory default and redo all your setting and rescan..
Regular scan on circular lnb & sats.
119w & 110w, being 110w has most ppv.. 119w has most premiums on it..
