| First off I'd like to thank you all in advance for the help, and to say hello. Second before we get to my problem I'd like to point out that I'm totally green when it comes to FTA, so please bear with me. This past Christmas I was given a FTA setup (only getting around to setting it up today), the gift included the following: 1 CaptiveWorks CW 700S w/remote 1 View Sat VS2000 w/remote 2 Switches 1 USB key 1 Bell Dish w/ dual LNB's ( I think everything but the USB key is second hand) Problem: 400+ Scrambled channels Today after many hours my dad and I mounted the dish, and pointed it SSW for EchoStar 6,8 and got around 80% quality and 90% strength. Above the quality bar it says Found Nimiq 1. (Both LNB's are hooked up to one captiveworks switch, then to the receiver) Ok so far so good we thought, but after scanning the channels we find there all scrambled. Our next step was old faithfull, google. Through google we learned how to enable the patch (F1 000) code. Then through various sites I learned you need bin files and maybe keys? So after much reading and and getting some answers I joined this community and I downloaded and unsipped Your Fta Site- FTA-GODS.COM Download Fta Files - fta-gods.com Downloads - Captiveworks Cw700sv2.15_2009_03_21 to my USB key, uploaded to my 700, rebooted, even tried a Hard boot. Now I'm not sure where to go from here, what are we missing? btw if you need any more info please please tell me exactly what you need to know and how to obtain this information. Thanks again |

| First off you are going to have to point your dish to Echostar 7 at 118W and Echostar 6.8 At 110W. Both of the Nimic sats have went to Nagravision 3 and there is no fix for it. Also tell us what Viewsat you have Ultra, Extreme,Lite etc. When you get your Dish set with good quality get back with us and we will try and help you. |

As I said above I updated with 215 bin, do I now need to enter keys? If so how do I do that? As for your other question, the ViewSat is a VS2000 Platinum. |

| there are times when the channels do take a while to load the keys. It also depends on what receiver you are using. If it is the captive works then you can turn it off on the rear power switch and then back on and it should clear it up. If it is the viewsat then you may need to load yesterdays file. You mentioned earlier that you ran both lnb's to the diseqC switch, did you assign port numbers to the sats? Normal settings would be echostar 7 (119 W) in port one and echostar 6,8 (110 W) in port 2. Can I ask what skew you are using in order to get both 119 and 110 at the same time? I ask this because 119 is in a higher elevation then 110 and if you have a reading for Echostar 6,8 (110 W) while on echostar 7 (119 W) settings then your dish is not aimed correctly.

| It's a bell dish Ok you have to assign port numbers in order for the receiver to know what port on the switch to grab the signal from. Also the skew sounds a little off to me. Have you tried setting it up by using our sat finder located in the top navigation bar at the top of the page? And seeing as you are trying to test both echostar 7 and echostar 6,8 I would center the dish and then get echostar 6,8 locked in first, then skew until you get echostar 7

| Update: I ran the fast tuning option in the easy tuning menu and now have 1081 channels through Echostar 4 - 7 - 6,8 - 1,2 and none are scrambled. Dose this mean I'm done setting up my dish and my first receiver (CaptiveWorks CW-700S)??? If so on to my next question: How to set up second receiver (ViewSat VS2000 Platinum) |
