FTA FTA subscription with FTA reciever

is it possible to use the smart card from my DN subscription in my fta stb?

As far as I am aware mercer the answer to that would be a big no.

the smart cards were created for the subscription boxes and not for the fta boxes so chances of them working are not good.

No it won't work there is only a couple that even have a card reader's in them and the receivers are not setup for smart card's.

there are some satellites that i have read that you need a smart card to get their programming on the FTA's but Bev and Dish are not

Dish will not sub any equipment they do not make...1 they don't want competition 2 they do not want there to know what they are doing and 3 they want control of the receiver and they can not control the FTA because they can not add the serial number in there system and they do not have the time to get how each FTA is made so they can control the FTA's firmware
so the answer is a very big no and if you ask them they will but you on there list as a possable pirate even if you have not done a thing wrong
