I have a SonicView 360 Premier up and running on a single LNB dish that was here when I moved in. I picked up a dish 500 and want to install it to pickup satellites 110 and 119. My original installation is on the ground works just fine. The dish 500 was pulled off the roof with all of the brackets intact. When I install it on my current ground pipe will I have to change the angle? Also to pick up both what degree towards west will I need to be? Hope I explained this right...LOL Thanks DL

dlsdawg, There's a Sat Finder button at the top of the page that can help you tune in your 500. Someone else will be along to answer your specific question about remounting. My guess is you're going to have to tweak it.

yes, your zip code determines which spot beam you are in, and what azimuth and skew you need to adjust to. Theres different angles at which you would need to point it to get both. They are 9 degrees apart, and for me in the southeast USA, my DISH installer pointed mine to 224 degrees, with a 38 degree elevation, and skew set to 118degrees ( i think) Azimuth is your up/down angle. Skew is your angle that you tilt the dish (turning it like a clock instead of moving the dish itself). you rotate the dish in a clockwise manner until it reaches the desired setting.

Just like some of the other memeber have already said, there is a "Sat Finder" on the forum. Found here: http://www.fta-gods.com/forums/satellite-finder.html Hope this helps out.

Thanks for the info, I found the satillite finder and copied the information provided. One thing I noticed is the 119 is listed as echostar 7 and 110 is listed as echostar 6/8. Is echostar 6/8 the same satillite or two different ones? So much to learn....LOL ![]() Thanks! DL |

the skew would stay the same no matter if its on the ground, or on the roof..height makes no difference in it..it goes by magnetically being level, to the direction from which you are from the sat in the sky. Height of satellite makes no difference since its supposedly level at any point, on the roof, or on the ground. 224 SE on the roof and a skew of 38, would still be 224 SE on the ground and a skew of 38.

No. That was for example only. The original poster would have to use their own zip code. I used mine for example purposes, because i've actually had mine on the roof, then back on the ground, and back to the roof again.
