FTA Dish 500 and 18"

Hi Guys,

Im getting a new connection from Charlie with Dish 500 and 18", i asked for a bigger dish , they told this is the best and good for HD. Wht is the LNB which they provide, customer care told they dont know abt that. Can i get more channels from that, or is it limited. Can i replace lnb with my own lnb if i dont get more channels, or replace dish itself to bigger one.

Or if you guys have done something better, would like to hear, please share your thoughts on this. Appreciate your time guys.

Hur,

According to the literature, the setup you're getting is the best for the HD service you'll be receiving. The receiver you'll be getting will be controlled by your provider, so you'll have to live with what it puts out.

There are other dishes from that provider that are bigger...something called a 500+ and a 1000. There is some information on the 1000 in these forums.

You can always add your own dish, lnbs, and receiver(s) to pick up other channels not offered on your subscription. There is information on some typical set ups in the Hardware Discussions area of the forums. Please read the information in there to get an idea of what can be done.

Thanks you for your answer. Im planning to get coolsat 7100 receiver and use the same dish whatever my provider has given, is that a good idea. Is that workable. Or is it just that i cant do anything and just watch whatever my provider gives.

you need a 30" dish to get channels you want to get. hope this help you

you want a supper dish!! the 105 one it gets hd with an off set leb. big dish with three lnbs and a dp 34 switch very very good with fta!! you will get all you can get with that dish!! you also can get 119 and 118 on one lnb its back stacked!! so you get up to four sats with that one dish set up three lnbs but four sats!!
