First HDMI 1.4 Cable Will Live a Lonely, Disconnected Life




How awful it must feel to be a fancy new cable with nothing to plug into. Such is the plight of the sad NXG 20-meter HDMI 1.4 cable, whose 3D/2160p/Ethernet talents will simply go unnoticed, at least this year.
Available to system builders for a steep $380, the Y95054 doesn't seem like a fully baked product: despite adhering to some parts of the HDMI 1.4 spec, it doesn't yet have full certification, and the feature list seems to imply that the cable might not even support 1080p, much less the super-resolved 4k sets on the distant horizon—although in the future, maybe lowly, ancient 1080p output is just taken for granted? Who knows! In any case, the gates have officially opened on what may be the lamest "first on your block" race in recent memory

this seem like something is wrong..first they pushed 1080 as the very best way to go
now try to find a 1080i you can only pick up 1080p system ...but the upped the frequency to 120hz instead of 60 hz
but even with that update it does not look as good as 1080i...I think it is the blueray makes the differance..because a bluray dvd will look better than any other format than if it were on 1080i
so that way they can try and sell the blueray and dump the HD version like they did ..now they have a system out made in China that costs 1/3 the price of blueray and has a better video than blueray and Sony does not want it released to the world because it costs less and does not look as good..so maybe that is the reason for the new connector that can not be used ( yet ) if they do let it out and released the movie company's with start using that format ..it is cheaper to use and get almost 3d videos from your TV and not using glasses to see it
and maybe they may come back with 1080i...who know they change things every 3 months or less and no more than 6 months you are outdated
So I am hoping they do come out with the new system seeing that now they have LED systems out and a much sharper video and uses less electricity and a room full of light and see no difference ...the only this is there is only 1 company that that makes a LED TV and I do not like that company because they have a 70% return rate
so I am waiting to see what is new..my TV is 2 and 1/2 inch's thick .... but the new led is only about 1 inch and 1/2 the weight and lasts longer than any of the new TV's a plasma goes out you throw it awy...a LCD goes out you go out and change the light bulb
but the LED will last long because of less power to be used and they will last a long time for they have perfected than a long time ago over 30 years
So we are just going to have to wait and see what is going to happen ... I never said I would every buy a video game or even play those stupid games till they came out with the Wii system and I think it is best thought out system made it is made for the plain person and game are ones that most ppl go out and play like bowling and tennis also boxing , football all the main games ppl play
Things change till they find out what you like and the they sell the hell out of stuff
so they will have a use for that connector soon..so it it will not be a waste
