Brazil appears on target for 6th WCup triumph
By ROBERT MILLWARD, AP Football Writer 55 minutes ago

LONDON (AP)—While football’s romantics may wish for a long-awaited first for Spain or a historic African victory on South African turf, the 2010 World Cup looks like being a sixth triumph for Brazil. Coach Dunga may have alienated some fans with pragmatic rather than typically Brazilian flamboyant play, but next year’s championship should end with another success for the World Cup’s most successful team.

The last six teams sneaked into the competition through the back door of the playoffs on Wednesday and the fact that France and Uruguay made it means that all seven winners will be in the field of 32 going into next month’s draw in Cape Town. The level of expectation will grow day by day until the teams arrive in South Africa next June for the biggest event of the world’s most popular sport.

England under Fabio Capello has its strongest hopes yet of a first win since 1966, Argentina hopes the Diego Maradona magic will rub off on its talented but underachieving players and two-time European champion Netherlands is out to show it finally has the ability to win a world title. While a mouthwatering final appears to be five-time winner Brazil against European champion Spain—the joint 9-2 favorites with British-based bookmakers William Hill—World Cups frequently throw up surprises.

Remember North Korea knocking out star-studded Italy in 1966, Cameroon beating defending champion Argentina in 1990, Senegal’s victory over 1998 champion France?
In the past three decades only one host—France in 1998—has won the title and that run doesn’t look like changing. South Africa, whose team has been in disarray after poor results over the past few years, is considered to be among the outsiders. But the talented Ivory Coast, which has the likes of Premier League stars Didier Drogba and Kolo Toure and in its lineup, is the leading contender to win on African soil.

For the likes of Brazil and Spain, anything less than the final will be considered a failure.
Under coach Dunga, often criticized for a lack of imagination and adventure, Brazil now has strength throughout the team and is far more than just a jumble of attacking superstars. Although Ronaldinho is struggling to get back into the team, Dunga has the likes of Kaka, Luis Fabiano and Robinho to unlock defenses and provide the goals in front of hard working midfielders and solid, reliable defenders.

Spain has its best squad ever with standout goalkeepers and experienced and hugely talented stars such as Xavi Hernandez, Cesc Fabregas, Andres Iniesta, Fernando Torres and David Villa all playing on the save wavelength. Michael Ballack remains the solid core of Germany’s lineup as it chases its fourth World Cup title but first since 1990. But the team lacks guile while the Dutch, twice runners up, will hope to shrug off its brittle form in major championships and rely on forwards Robin van Persie and Arjen Robben to bring home the title for the first time.

Under disciplinarian Capello, England won nine of its 10 qualifiers and has a solid look and probably its best chance for decades. Although he has the experience and talent of David Beckham, Steven Gerrard, Frank Lampard, Wayne Rooney and John Terry, however, Capello has a goalkeeper weakness while Rio Ferdinand’s fitness is now suspected.
With Maradona unable to transfer his greatness as a player to the bench, Argentina looked in danger of failing to qualify and only just made it.

Maradona, should he keep the coach’s job going into the finals, now has to get the best out of undoubted talents such as Lionel Messi, Carlos Tevez and Sergio Aguero to make an impact in South Africa. With its squad still filled with aging stars, Italy will struggle to hold on to the title and become the first back-to-back winner since Brazil in 1962.

The flip side of that is that Fabio Cannavaro, Gianluca Zambrotta, Gianluigi Buffon and Andrea Pirlo all know how to win to World Cup and that means the Italians can’t be discounted. Declining under Coach Raymond Domenech, France needed a blatant handball by Thierry Henry against Ireland to make it through the playoffs while Portugal coach Carlos Queiroz seems unable to get the best out of stars such as Cristiano Ronaldo, Deco and Ricardo Carvalho.

The United States have revived under coach Bob Bradley and, after reaching the final of the Confederations Cup in South Africa in June, will target the quarterfinals as a measure of its improvement. The Americans reached that stage in 2002, have reliable goalkeepers, dependable defenders and talented forwards in Landon Donovan and Clint Dempsey.

Australia hopes to justify moving to the Asian Confederation and underline its status as an emerging force in world football while Japan needs to make the second round to show it is a breeding ground for talented players. The same applies to African nations Cameroon, Nigeria and Ghana who will also measure success as reaching the knockout phase.

South Korea is back to try and emulate its semifinal appearance of 2002, when it was a co-host with Japan, and the North Koreans, among the 500-1 outsiders, might be dreaming of embarrassing the Italians the same way as in England in 1966.
Greece has made it for only the second time but, still with veteran coach Otto Rehhagel in charge, hopes to produce the same surprising success as when it won the 2004 European championship.

Mexico, Chile and Uruguay aren’t likely to get past the first round while, for New Zealand, Honduras, Slovenia, Slovakia and Algeria, simply being at the World Cup is a measure of success and anything they can achieve at the finals will be a bonus.

White: Lesnar Undergoes ‘Minor Surgery’ for Intestinal Infection

Brock Lesnar is being treated in an unidentified hospital for a bacterial infection in his intestinal tract, UFC President Dana White told the Associated Press on Monday.

“He’s in stable condition and should be released soon,” said White.

White also posted to his Twitter account Tuesday that Lesnar underwent “minor surgery.”

“Leaving bismarck ND right now,” wrote White. “Brock had minor surgery and is feeling better. Not 100% sure he is out of the woods but feeling better.”

In late October, the UFC heavyweight champion withdrew from his Nov. 21 title defense against Shane Carwin at UFC 106 in Las Vegas to recover from mononucleosis.

White announced last Saturday that Lesnar’s condition was far worse than had originally been thought. White did not disclose Lesnar’s additional ailments at that time but said a return for the 31-year-old fighter was not expected in the foreseeable future. White said the promotion was considering an interim title for the division while Lesnar recovered.

When asked if Lesnar would fight again, White told the Associated Press on Monday that, “It depends on how serious this is.”

Former WWE Executives Shane McMahon And Carl DeMarco Meet With UFC

WWE Executive Vice President of Global Media Shane McMahon and former WWE Canada President Carl DeMarco recently met with the UFC.
McMahon, son of WWE CEO Vince McMahon, gave his notice to WWE last month and will be leaving the organization effective January 1, 2010. Shane McMahon is a big MMA fan, and at one point in time had talks with PRIDE about purchasing the company before PRIDE sold to Zuffa.

The F4W Newsletter is reporting that the meeting was an exploratory meeting, and nothing has been signed as of yet. The newsletter noted that many officials in WWE believe that Shane will eventually end up with the UFC, and may help the UFC expand internationally.

Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer Newsletter asked UFC President Dana White about the meeting last weekend, and White offered no comment.

Manny Pacquiao defeated Miquel Cotto via TKO on Round 12 and won the WBO Welterweight Championship belt.

Manny Pacquiao said on the interview courtesy of Sports Live Blogger:

“Our plan and strategy for the fight is not to hurry. You know, take time. I’m trying to test his power. In the early round I’m trying to get his in the body and in the head. I’m looking for a knock out shot that’s why I didn’t throw a lot of punches. You know, in the last minute I gave a few punches. That’s why I heard. I heard that he was bigger than me and was stronger than me. I tried my best to knock him out in the last round. I thought in the 11th round that they will stop the fight.”

According to Boxing Fanhouse report, you can read the Round-by-Round Updates
Round 1: Cotto jabs. Three times. All land. Cotto throws a hook. The crowd chants Manny, then, Cotto. Three Pacquiao jabs fall short. Cotto counters with a grazing left. Cotto comes forward and drills Pacquiao with a hard left hook to the head. Pacquiao gets his right hand going. Pacquiao goes to the body and head with a five punch combination that shakes Cotto in his tracks. Another five-punch combination from Pacquiao stuns Cotto. Cotto closes strong, but Pacquiao wins the round on activity. Pacquiao's round, 10-9

Round 3: Cotto moves forward with measured aggression. A hard right from Pacquiao stuns Cotto. Then Pacquiao drops Cotto with a right hand to the temple. Cotto rises and comes forward. Pacquaio drives to the body, goes to the ropes. Cotto drills Pacquiao with a left hook to the head, but the challenger takes it. Pacquiao's lead left lands twice. Cotto drives three punches to the body and one to the head. Paquiao fires three right hands, a left and dances away. Cotto follows and nails Pacquiao with a right-left combination to the head. Pacquiao's round, 10-8

Round 4: Cotto follows, Pacquiao dances away on his toes. Cotto nails Pacquaio with a three-punch combination on the ropes. Pacquiao goes to the head with a right and then to the body with a left. Cotto takes a three-punch combination to the body. Cotto drills a right to the body. Pacquiao pot-shots Cotto. Cotto lands about seven punches on Pacquiao along the ropes. Pacquiao covers up. Once off the ropes, Pacquiao circles and catches Cotto with a left uppercut that drops the champion again. Cotto rises and is saved by the bell. Pacquiao's round, 10-8

Round 5: Pacquiao's speed, power and elusiveness are impressive. The crowd chants the challenger's name. Cotto moves in behind his jab. Pacquiao appears to be timing him. Pacquiao wobbles Cotto again. Cotto continues to move forward and go to the body. Pacquiao appears to be setting up the champion. Too fast. Cotto nails Pacquiao with a left uppercut on the ropes and then a right off the ropes that shakes him. Pacquiao closes with a one-two, just before the bell. Cotto's round, 10-9

Round 6: Cotto comes forward behind his jab again. Pacquiao goes to the body and head, the latter, with two right hands. Pacquiao comes forward and nails Cotto along the ropes. In the middle of the ring, Pacquiao's lead left is twice effective. Cotto is flinching in anticipation of punches that he doesn't appear to be able to see coming. Cotto backs up, and Pacquiao pursues, nearly putting Cotto down with a right along the ropes. The fighters exchange, evenly, to close the round. Pacquiao's round, 10-9

Round 7: Pacquiao opens the round with a 10-punch assault. Cotto covers, yet he still is being battered. A lead left to the body backs up Cotto.

Round 8: Pacquiao meets Cotto in the center of the ring. Pacquiao leads with the left and lands it twice. Pacquiao seems ready to go for the kill. But Cotto lands a nice jab. Pacquiao is undeterred, missing wildly with three volleys. Cotto is on his toes. Pacquiao lands three left hooks and a right. On the ropes, Cotto takes another three-punch combination. Cotto takes a right. Pacquiao absorbs two left hooks to the head. On the ropes, Pacquiao rakes Cotto with a three-punch combination. Near the end of the round, Pacquiao does so again, this time, in Cotto's corner. Pacquiao's round, 10-9

Round 9: Cotto bravely meets Pacquiao in the center of the ring and begins to jab, but tables turn quickly as Pacquiao corners him and drills him with about 10 punches along the ropes. A three-punch combination staggers Cotto, and referee Kenny Bayless looks ready to step in, as he breaks the fighters. Cotto is bloody and ready to go as he dances away. His eyes are puffy and his face a mass of redness. Pacquiao, hands down at his sides, is simply chasing him and punishing him. Cotto's face is a series of welts and cuts. Pacquiao's round, 10-8

Round 10: Cotto is simply surviving, jabbing as much to keep Pacquiao off of him as to win. Pacquiao stays in his face, firing his right jab, and looking as fresh as the first round. Pacquiao takes a deep breath and drops his hands, but Cotto doesn't take advantage. Cotto jabs twice, but takes a two-punch, and then, a three-punch combination along the ropes before the bell. Pacquiao's round, 10-9

Round 11: The crowd chants Pacquiao's name to start the round. Pacquiao moves in behind his jab. Cotto's trunks are red with his own blood. Trapped in Pacquiao's corner, Cotto takes a seven-punch combination. Cotto continues to back-peddle in survival mode. Pacquiao drills two right hands home. Pacquiao drops his hands at the end of the round as if to say, "Fight me." Pacquiao's round, 10-9

Round 12: The crowd chants Pacquiao's name, and after a hard left hand is delivered that drives Cotto to the ropes, referee Kenny Bayless quickly steps in, cradles Cotto and waves an end to the fight to prevent more punishment. Manny Pacquaio wins by 12th-round technical knockout victory. The official time is 55 seconds of the round

First of all let me say I`m a die hard Leaf fan, true Leaf fans bleed blue & white. Meaning that there are 2 things in hockey we hate----the Detroit Red Wings & the Montreal Canadians without exception.
Yesterday, the Hockey Hall of Fame inducted Brett Hull, Lou Lamoriello, Brian Leetch, Luc Robitaille and Steve Yzerman into it`s ranks. Of this deserved group one man clearly stands out as the personification of sports and exactly what a professional athlete should personify---Stevie Y. Yzerman was the captain of the Red Wings during their recent glory days and is still an instrumental force in their success as well as the basic director of Team Canada. To my memory there has never been a hockey player (including Gretzky) that exhibited more talent, skill, knowledge or passion for the game. He never once opened his mouth, gave an unsolicited opinion or spoke ill of another player but rather shared his enthusiasm and talent with his fellow players while rising to the very epitome of his sport. His accessiblity to the fans in every venue is well documented as are his tireless contributions to charities in the Detroit and other areas.
In these days of pro athletes being hailed as demi-gods and self promoting a___holes it is truly refreshing to see a Stevie Y get the recognition he so rightfully earned. A true legend of the sport.

2. Indianapolis (7-0)
3. Minnesota (7-1)
4. Pittsburgh (5-2)
5. New England (5-2)

6. Dallas (5-2) -- It baffles Roy Williams, but no one else, that Miles Austin has replaced him as the No. 1 receiving threat in Dallas. He has caught 14 passes this season. "I don't know what it is," he told reporters. Hey, Roy, perhaps it's those lazy work habits you brought from Detroit to the Cowboys that remain the problem.

7. Philadelphia (5-2)
8. Denver (6-1)
9. Cincinnati (5-2)
10. Baltimore (4-3)
11. Atlanta (4-3)
12. San Diego (4-3)
13. N.Y. Giants (5-3)
14. Arizona (4-3)
15. Houston (5-3)
16. Chicago (4-3)
17. Green Bay (4-3)
18. San Francisco (3-4)
19. Miami (3-4)
20. N.Y. Jets (4-4)
21. Carolina (3-4)
22. Seattle (2-5)
23. Buffalo (3-5)

24. Jacksonville (3-4) -- It took Maurice Jones-Drew just 54 games to score 50 touchdowns in the NFL. He's the fifth-fastest to 50 among running backs in league history, trailing Hall of Famers Jim Brown (45 games), Marcus Allen (48), Eric Dickerson (51) and Lenny Moore (53).

25. Tennessee (1-6) -- It might not be a real popular move in the locker room, but installing Vince Young as the Titans starting quarterback helped produce the team's first win of the season. If coach Jeff Fisher doesn't embrace the change, which ownership insisted upon, he'll be packing his bags at the end of the season.

26. Oakland (2-6) -- Hey, uplifting week for the Raiders. JaMarcus Russell tells the media he is pleased with a 109-yard passing effort, coach Tom Cable gets exposed as an alleged wife and girlfriend abuser, and the front office blames ESPN for spreading falsehoods about the team. Nah, Mr. Davis, everything is just fine.

27. Washington (2-5)
28. Kansas City (1-6)
29. St. Louis (1-7)

30. Cleveland (1-7) -- The Browns kicked off their bye week by firing general manager George Kokonis. This team can't score, the fans are in an uproar, but coach Eric Mangini's job still is safe? It almost makes what's happening in Detroit seem normal.

31. Detroit (1-6)
32. Tampa Bay (0-7)

NFL Power Rankings Week 8

- With the NFL season nearing the halfway mark, SB Nation's NFL Power Rankings are beginning to develop some week-to-week consistency: the Saints and...

- With the NFL season nearing the halfway mark, SB Nation's NFL Power Rankings are beginning to develop some week-to-week consistency: the Saints and Colts are at the top, while the Titans, Bucs, and Rams have established themselves as cellar dwellers.

The Cardinals were this week's biggest riser, as they moved up six spots after their win over the Giants in the Meadowlands reminded our bloggers that the Cards were one miraculous Santonio Holmes catch away from winning the Super Bowl last season. The Bears take the award for steepest drop, falling nine spots - laying an egg and letting your former draft bust run roughshod over you tends to lower peoples' opinion of you.

And Jim Zorn should take heart: while the Skins stayed steady at 28th, the four teams our bloggers ranked below the Skins have one fewer win combined than the Skins have. So at least Zorn has that going for him.

NFL Power Rankings
Team Rank (LW) Record Comments
1 (1) New Orleans Saints 6-0 Reggie Bush thinks the Saints will go 16-0...and that he'll eventually win an MVP award. While Reggie certainly shows flashes of the brilliance that made him a Heisman winner, he's not even the most valuable player in the Saints' backfield. Someone might want to explain this to him.
2 (2) Indianapolis Colts 6-0 Did the Colts get an Easy Button for last week's win? And are the Broncos and Patriots the only teams that can stop the Colts from marching to the Super Bowl, for a potential matchup against Peyton's hometown (and father's) team, the Saints?
3 (4) Denver Broncos 6-0 Dan Snyder, take note: the Bronocos "lost" the offseason, with the Cutler trade and Brandon Marshall's intransigence dominating the headlines. But now that the games have started, the Broncos have proven to be a tough, efficient team that doesn't beat itself with turnovers or penalties. That formula can take you a long way in the NFL. It's almost as if Josh McDaniels learned from someone who knew a thing or two about football.
4 (3) Minnesota Vikings 6-1 Vikings fans can take solace in the fact that absent a Sidney Rice touchdown being called back on a dubious tripping penalty, and a fluky interception return, the Vikings would have beaten the defending champs on the road. Also, the Vikings still have Adrian Peterson. And he does things like this.
5 (6) New England Patriots 5-2 The Pats put on quite a show for the Brits, blowing out the Bucs across the pond. With Tom Brady, Randy Moss and Wes Welker back to their usual tricks, look for the Pats to run away with the AFC East.
6 (8) Pittsburgh Steelers 5-2 With Troy Polamalu back flying around, the Steelers' defense is back to dominating opponents. Despite Adrian Peterson's monster hit last week, the Steelers largely shut down the Vikings' All Pro back on the ground. You've been forewarned: watch out for the defending champs.
7 (9) Cincinnati Bengals 5-2 While Cedric Benson stole the headlines with his 189 yards of revenge against the Bears, the bigger story for Bengals fans was Carson Palmer's nearly flawless game. Palmer had been sneakily mediocre despite the team's winning record, before last week's demolition of the Bears. If Palmer is fully back and Benson continues his tear, the Bengals should have one of the top offenses in the league.
8 (5) New York Giants 5-2 Uh-oh Giants fans. After Eli Manning and his receiving corps looked unstoppable through the first five weeks, the Giants' passing game has struggled mightily in the last two. Take away Hakeem Nicks' fluky touchdown off the deflection, and Eli's night would have been that much worse. The schedule doesn't do them any favors, as they've played nearly all of their cupcakes already.
9 (13) Philadelphia Eagles 4-2 Despite taking care of business against the Skins, plenty of questions persist for the Eagles on offense. Donovan McNabb had one of his patented "one-hop-every-throw" games and the offensive line didn't protect or run-block very well. If Brian Westbrook is out any extended period of time, the Eagles could be in for a second half swoon. But at least the Phillies won the pennant!
10 (16) Arizona Cardinals 4-2 Remember the defending NFC champs? Our bloggers certainly do after last week's eye-opening win in the Meadowlands. While the Cards continue to fling the ball around on offense, their top-ranked rushing defense is the real story in Arizona. Safeties Adrian WIlson and Antrel Rolle have dominated the line of scrimmage in run support, as the Cardinals have dared teams to beat them in the air. So far, it's working.
11 (15) Dallas Cowboys 4-2 Terrell who? Miles Austin has breathed life into a seemingly moribund passing game, just as injuries to Marion Barber and Felix Jones had hampered the Cowboys' ground game. If Austin can continue anything close to his recent tear, the Boys could be a formidable team down the stretch.
12 (12) Green Bay Packers 4-2 While the Packers easily dispatched another bottom feeder last week (this time it was the Browns), the bigger question is whether they can protect Aaron Rodgers enough against the better teams in the league. They'll get a stiff test this week when Jared Allen (and a certain former quarterback) come to town.
13 (7) Atlanta Falcons 4-2 The Falcons' offense isn't working. Michael Turner's YPC is way down from last year, the passing game is struggling, and the playcalling is too predictable. If the Falcons are going to make the leap into the league's elite, they'll need to open things up.
14 (10) Baltimore Ravens 3-3 After dropping three straight, the Ravens face a gut-check game this weekend when they host the undefeated Broncos. And for the first time in a decade, it's the defense that needs to pick up its game.
15 (18) Houston Texans 4-3 Matt Schaub, Andre Johnson and Owen Daniels might be stealing all the headlines, but the Texans' defense has quietly improved against the run, going from being a laughingstock to a solid unit. Now, if they can just figure out how to cover tight ends on post routies, they could be very dangerous...
16 (19) New York Jets 4-3 Don't blame Mark Sanchez for eating a hot dog on the sidelines of last week's blowout win over the Raiders. He probably didn't realize that was actually an NFL game. Rookie mistake.
17 (20) San Diego Chargers 3-3 The good news: the Chargers beat up on a team they should beat up on. The bad news: LaDainian Tomlinson couldn't do the same. The artist formerly known as LT failed to score despite receiving nine carries from inside the 10 yard line, and only averaged 3 YPC against a toothless Chiefs' defensive front.
18 (17) Miami Dolphins 2-4 The Dolphins have to be one of the more impressive 2-4 teams in recent memory. They had both the Colts and the Saints on the ropes before letting those games slip away. Their ball-control offense and stout rushing defense are enough to keep them in most game. Now if they could just get some receivers who can actually catch passes...
19 (14) San Francisco 49ers 3-3 While the Niners didn't get the win last week, they may have gotten something even more important: a quarterback. It's back to the future for Niners fans, as Alex Smith will try to become the team's franchise quarterback. If he keeps playing like he did last week, the Niners could challenge for the NFC West crown.
20 (11) Chicago Bears 3-3 The Bears couldn't do diddly poo last Sunday. They couldn't run the ball, couldn't pass the ball, couldn't stop the run, and couldn't stop the pass. Playoffs? Don't talk about playoffs.
21 (21) Jacksonville Jaguars 3-3 No harm no foul for the Jags coming off their bye.
22 (24) Buffalo Bills 3-4 Break up the Bills! With the pride of Harvard, Ryan Fitzpatrick, quarterbacking them, the Bills have begun the long climb back to respectability. Maybe Dick Jauron will hold onto his job until the offseason after all.
23 (23) Seattle Seahawks 2-4 The Seahawks need to figure out how to keep Matt Hasselbeck upright if they are to have any chance of getting back into the NFC West race.
24 (22) Carolina Panthers 2-4 The Panthers are sticking with NFL interception leader Jake Delhomme at quarterback. While their other options at quarterback aren't too exciting, methinks this might be more about the bottom line: they're trying to salvage something out of their $42.5 million (with $20 guaranteed!) investment in Delhomme this past offseason. Someone should explain the concept of a sunk cost to them.
25 (25) Oakland Raiders 2-5 Last week DE Richard Seymour said the Raiders would be a playoff team. This year. Now, Seymour is telling reporters that the Raiders couldn't even beat a high school team. To be fair, maybe Seymour meant that the Raiders would make the high school playoffs.
26 (27) Kansas City Chiefs 1-6 The Chiefs may cut Larry Johnson within the next week for his critical tweets about the coaching stuff and use of a gay slur. How will they ever replace his 2.7 YPC?
27 (26) Detroit Lions 1-5 For the first time since Week 1 of last year, the Lions are favored to win a game. And that's with Calvin Johnson potentially sidelined. That's how bad the Rams are.
28 (28) Washington Redskins 2-5 Our bloggers were going to say something negative about the team's management, but Dan Snyder censored it. On a positive note, bingo caller Sherm Lewis acquitted himself quite well calling plays, and the defense continues to play at a high level.
29 (29) Cleveland Browns 1-6 Is there anything Derek Anderson could do to get benched? What if he went 2 of 17 for 23 yards with an interception? What's that? That happened? And he's still the starter? Ouch, moving on...
30 (31) Tennessee Titans 0-6 Wildcat, meet Vince Young and Chris Johnson. At this point, what is there left to lose for the Titans? At least moving to the Wildcat would make the Titans interesting. And heck, maybe it could revive VY's career.
31 (30) Tampa Bay Bucs 0-7 How can an 0-7 team get even worse? How about starting a rookie quarterback! The Bucs have decided to trade in one Josh for another, with Freeman replacing Johnson. While Johnson wasn't exactly lighting the world on fire, rushing Freeman to the field when the team is in such disarray is a bit of a risky move. 0-16 could be firmly within the Bucs' grasp.
32 (32) St. Louis Rams 0-7 It can't get much worse. That's the only consolation. Maybe one of these weeks the Rams will cover.

By Tim Ngo

The fighter formerly known as Jon Koppenhaver has made another odd decision in a string "strange" choices made by the former UFC fighter. War Machine has officially entered the world of adult films after recording his first scene with pornstar "Riley Steele".
"So….I said f--k it! I signed with La Direct Models this week and today I did my first porn scene! lol
I shot for Digital Playground with their girl Riley Steele……was f--king awesome!!
I was nervous as shit but I came through.
I’m still gonna fight…..just gonna do this too because fighting isn’t quite enough money and you all know I ain’t trying to work! In life I have come to learn that all I enjoy is eating, sleeping, fighting and f--king!!
F--k it! I’m living the dream…getting PAID to fight and f--k! What more could I ask for?"

A couple weeks ago robby3333 made a crack that "you know it`s a bad year if 6 teams are worse than the Lions" in his thread re the NFL power rankings week #5. Myself, all Lion fans and indeed the Detroit Lions take great offence in this remark-----since these rankings were made the Lions lost 23-0 to Green Bay, had an off week to regroup LOL and lost today to the lowly St Louis Rams 17 - 10 to give the Rams their first win of the season thusly making it impossible for them to rival the Lions history making futility of a year ago.
"Not in our house--you don`t"------take our title---there is no chance anyone who is in their right mind can vote the Lions anywhere but last in any ranking anywhere---thus reclaiming their title as the worst team in the NFL-----take that robby3333, there are no worse teams--anywhere. LOL
The Lions performance today should have removed all doubts in that statement. They simply find a way to lose. Last season Tebow & McCoy stayed in school rather than get drafted by the Lions #1-----I hope Florida & Texas have undergrad programs cause by losing to the Rams today puts the Lions back in the drivers seat for the #1 pick again next year which goes to prove you can run but you can`t hide Timmy !! Poor Matt Stafford---I told you to stay in school.
The three stooges Ford, Lewand & Mayhew retain their title of futility---congrats boys--it got scary late in the 4th quarter.

Now----take that back robby3333---------the Lions commitment to futility goes unsurpassed in modern day sports. They have earned the title in every facet of the game, now say it----who is the worst team in the NFL??
