The new files released today fix some bugs but does not address freezing. Do Not Play around with the Wiznet Application. LAS VEGAS (AP) - Manny Pacquiao is a box office hit, selling 1.25 million pay-per-views for his fight with Miguel Cotto in a performance that could set up the richest fight ever against Floyd Mayweather Jr.
The fight not only made the top 10 of best-selling pay-per-view boxing events, but beat the 1.05 million figure notched by Mayweather for his September comeback fight against Juan Manuel Marquez.
HBO Sports president Ross Greenburg said Friday the fight grossed $70 million, with 650,000 buys coming from cable television homes and 600,000 from satellite television viewers. It was helped by a record 110,000 buys from Puerto Rico, Cotto's home.
The biggest PPV fight was in 2007 - Mayweather and Oscar De La Hoya, which was sold to 2.4 million homes.
DIRECTV has completed a transaction involving the combination of DIRECTV Group and Liberty Entertainment,　Inc. (LEI), a company split-off from Liberty Media Corporation that included in part the Seattle-based Liberty Sports Group. As a result of the merger, Liberty Sports Group has been re-branded DIRECTV Sports Networks, a controlled subsidiary of DIRECTV that is comprised of three regional sports networks, which include FSN Northwest, FSN Pittsburgh and FSN Rocky Mountain (and sub-region FSN Utah). The three networks combined reach more than 8.5 million viewers across 17 states and own exclusive programming and distribution partnerships with more than 25 teams and conferences.

DIRECTV Sports Networks will continue to be led by President & CEO Mark Shuken with the existing strategies and structure for the executive team and regional operations. At this time the networks’ brand will continue as FSN and the existing programming, team partnerships and distribution agreements remain in tact. Shuken will report to Eric Shanks, Executive Vice President of DIRECTV Entertainment.
"It is a tremendous opportunity for our company to become a part of the DIRECTV family, a business that obviously values the popularity and passion of sports television and endeavors to constantly improve the viewer experience," said Shuken. "Through our efforts to build integrated, long-term team partnerships and innovative sports content we have positioned ourselves to take full advantage of the opportunities afforded by DIRECTV and will strive through creativity and innovation to provide significant asset value to the company."

Officials investigating one lot of flu vaccine due to allergy concerns

19/11/2009 8:02:00 PM
Steve Lambert, THE CANADIAN PRESS
The provinces are being asked to hold back a batch of swine flu vaccine that appears to be causing higher rates of severe allergic reactions.

The vaccine's manufacturer, GlaxoSmithKline, has asked governments to stop using vaccine doses from one particular lot shipment (A80CA007A) issued in late October while the company and federal health officials investigate.

"GSK is taking this cautionary action because the Public Health Agency of Canada has received a higher than expected number of reports of anaphylaxis in this lot number compared to other lots," the company said in a written statement Thursday.

Manitoba health officials say they have noticed severe allergic reactions from that lot at a rate of one in 20,000, compared with the standard reaction rate of one in 100,000.

"We received this vaccine some time ago, as did all other provinces, and we have used almost all of this vaccine already," Dr. Joel Kettner, Manitoba's chief medical officer of health said.

"We are being cautious and following the advice ... to hold onto the remaining stock until we get further information."

The Alberta government was also holding back the vaccine, although it had not seen a jump in reactions.

"We reviewed our own data and we didn't have any of that experience here ... so at this point, we're just following the instructions from the company and the public health agency," said chief medical health officer Andre Corriveau.

"We hadn't seen any severe allergic reactions from that lot ourselves ... there were cases in B.C. and Quebec, I believe."

Ontario's health ministry said it had received 1,500 doses from the lot. None had been administered and officials were shelving them until the investigation is complete.

Because most of the vaccine in question has already been used, the decision to withhold what's left is not expected to have an impact on overall supplies.

Kettner urged people not to be alarmed. Any severe reactions from the lot have been short-lived and have not led to long-term health troubles, he said.

"The ongoing question for people considering getting vaccinated is comparing the potential benefit of the vaccine ... with the risk, which remains very low from our observations," he said.

"Our advice, based on information in Manitoba and from other provinces, is unchanged."
Back from the edge of bankruptcy, SIRIUS XM may go on a buying spree. Really. CEO Mel Karmazin told Fox News that the company may be planning more acquisitions – we would guess via a much-rumored fling at Worldspace, the now-post-bankruptcy international sat radio operator. Of course, Sirius is still deeply in debt and its stock remains below the magic $1 mark on NASDAQ (which could force a reverse split) but improved third quarter performance and upped credit ratings are giving the sat radio giant a new lease on life

This isn’t consumer TV ... in fact it’s not even consumer (yet) ... but for all of you satellite business operators serving commercial markets it’s a heads up for tomorrow’s opportunities: According to the latest reports from NSR , the next big thing in satellite could be earth observation (EO) capabilities.

Today that’s mostly a government kind of app ... but for tomorrow, NSR lists insurance, real estate and tourism among the likely users. The firm estimates that more than 180 new earth observation satellites will be launched in the next decade with the commercial EO data marketing doubling to $2.2 billion in 2018 while EO value added services reach $2.3 billion in 2018.

A case in point for the EO growth argument: Iridium Communications is already touting its next-gen satellite constellation, Iridium NEXT, as a potential big winner in the EO arena. The new system of 66 low-earth orbiting cross-linked satellites is slated for launch between 2014 and 2016.•

The ink is hardly dry on the new CEO's contract and the stock isn’t due to spin out until year end, but chatter about a DIRECTV merger/take-over is already rampant. Liberty Media’s Dr. John Malone (who is currently the guy with the biggest stake) has fueled the speculation, declining to rule out a possible AT&T or Verizon takeover in an interview with Bloomberg.

DIRECTV already offers pay TV packages in concert with both AT&T and Verizon and, said Malone, “Our relationship will continue to broaden and intensify. It may lead to some more ownership-oriented relationship, or it may not.”

In addition, incoming CEO Michael White is widely seen as a place holder, preparing the company for sale within the next few years. Add that to the planned merger between DIRECTV and Malone’s Liberty Entertainment (minus Starz) and the path to a potential takeover is greatly simplified.

*US Postal Service has been accused of Scrooge-like behaviour after it imposed strict rules on a 55-year-old Father Christmas letters service over...

US Postal Service has been accused of Scrooge-like behaviour after it imposed strict rules on a 55-year-old Father Christmas letters service over fears that paedophiles might gain access to the young correspondents.

Since 1954, the Operation Santa programme, which is centred in the small Alaskan town of North Pole, has been forwarding about 150,000 letters a year addressed to “Santa Claus, North Pole”.
Replies written by volunteers around the US and bearing the North Pole postmark, come signed by one of Santa’s elves. However, concerns were raised last year when a worker at a sorting centre in Maryland recognised an Operation Santa volunteer in the state as a registered sex offender.
The individual was sacked before he could answer a child’s letter, but the episode prompted the Postal Service to tighten up the rules, which already required “elves” to show identification.
The service now prohibits volunteers from having access to children’s full names and addresses. They will be replaced by codes that match computerised addresses known only to the post office.
Operation Santa will still operate but letters to Santa at the North Pole will no longer be forwarded to the Alaskan town. People in North Pole, where lampposts look like candy canes and streets have names such as Kriss Kringle Drive, are furious.
Doug Isaacson, the town’s mayor, compared postal chiefs to the Grinch, the Dr Seuss character who tried to “steal” Christmas. “It’s Grinch-like that the Postal Service never informed the elves before the fact,” he said. “They’ve been working on this for how long?”
A spokesman for the service in Anchorage said: “It’s always been a good programme, but we’re in different times and concerned for the privacy of the information.”

OTTAWA — It takes money to make money — especially in a recession, according to the Canadian Business’s 2009 list of the richest Canadians, which...

OTTAWA — It takes money to make money — especially in a recession, according to the Canadian Business’s 2009 list of the richest Canadians, which shows that the rich kept getting richer despite the economic downturn that has cost 400,000 Canadians their jobs in the past year.
The five wealthiest Canadians in 2008 topped the list again in 2009.
The Thomson family of Toronto, of Thomson Reuters and Woodbridge Co. Ltd., retained a solid hold on the title of richest Canadians with a combined wealth of $21.99-billion.
However, there was some jockeying for other positions: Toronto’s Rogers family, of Rogers Communications, slipped a spot to No. 5, with a combined wealth of $4.7-billion, while Vancouver’s Jimmy Pattison, worth $5.07-billion, jumped from No. 5 to No. 4.
Galen Weston, of George Weston Ltd. and Loblaw Cos. Ltd., remained Canada’s third-richest person at $6.47-billion. James and John Irving, of New Brunswick’s Irving Oil Ltd., at $7.28-billion, stayed in second place.
The Thomsons actually managed to grow their wealth by 19% despite the recession, which was particularly harmful to media interests. But in terms of rate of wealth increase, the Thomsons have nothing on Ivanhoe mining executive Robert Friedland, whose bank account grew by 217% to $1.59-billion, according to the magazine, and who jumped from 61st spot on the top 100 to 32nd in the past year.
Goldcorp founder Rob McEwan returned to the list after dropping off last year, as his money pool grew 134% deeper, to $568-million, landing him in 89th spot.
Canadian Business, a magazine founded in 1928, says it goes through proxy statements, insider trading reports and other sources to estimate the worth of rich Canadians.
There are two more billionaires in Canada than there were last year — 55, up from 53 — and the total net worth of Canada’s richest grew to $172.7-billion in 2009 from $165.1-billion in 2008, the second-highest total in the 11 years that the magazine has been compiling its list. The highest was $176.9-billion in 2007.
It wasn’t all sunshine, of course: Lee Ka Lau, of ATI Technologies — at $472 million — is richer this year than he was last, but last year’s 99th place finisher didn’t earn enough to stay on the list. Likewise, Bill Comrie of the Brick Group’s Income Fund fell off the list after the treasure in his chest dropped to $415-million.
Ontario is the province of choice of moneyed Canadians —3 9 of the 100 richest live there, compared with 18 in Quebec, 12 in B.C., 11 in Alberta, four in Nova Scotia, and two each in Manitoba and New Brunswick. Twelve live outside the country.
Top 5 richest Canadians in 2009:

1. Thomson family $21.99-billion
2. James Arthur and John Irving $7.28-billion
3. Galen Weston $6.47-billion
4. Jimmy Pattison $5.07-billion
5. Rogers Family $4.7-billion

JOHANNESBURG, South Africa - South African runner Caster Semenya will keep her 800-metre gold medal from the world championships, and the results of her gender tests will be kept confidential, the South African sports ministry said Thursday.

However, the question of whether she remains eligible to compete as a woman remains uncertain.

The ministry also said in a statement that the International Association of Athletics Federations has agreed to allow the 18-year-old Semenya to keep her prize money.

"Because Caster has been found to be innocent ... she will then retain her gold medal," the ministry said.

On Wednesday, the IAAF said the gender tests performed on Semenya had not been completed. The track and field governing body had been expected to announce its findings Friday.

On Thursday, the IAAF said it was sticking by its statement and could not confirm the South African ministry statements.

"Whatever scientific tests were conducted legally within the IAAF regulations will be treated as a confidential matter between patient and doctor," the sports ministry said. "As such there will be no public announcement of what the panel of scientists has found. We urge all South Africans and other people to respect this professional ethical and moral way of doing things."

Before the 800 final in Berlin, the IAAF said it had ordered gender tests because of Semenya's muscular build and rapid improvement in times. The case caused outrage in South Africa, and the IAAF was accused of violating her privacy. South African track officials were accused of failing to protect her.

Australian newspapers said in September that Semenya has male and female sexual organs, but the IAAF has refused to confirm or deny those reports.

After Athletics South Africa president Leonard Chuene admitted he lied about gender tests being conducted on Semenya in South Africa before the worlds, South African Olympic committee officials suspended him and the rest of the track body's 12-member board.

The Olympic committee appointed one of its members, Ray Mali, as ASA's administrator. When Mali moved into the track body's Johannesburg offices this week, one suspended ASA official had to be escorted from the premises by police.

The sports ministry said Thursday it had asked the IAAF to apologize for its role, and had received this response: "It is deeply regrettable that information of a confidential nature entered the public domain."

The IAAF also told the sports ministry it was not the source of leaks about the case.

CHICAGO (Reuters) - Major League Baseball still faces an uncertain U.S. economy that led to lower attendance and financial losses at some clubs this year, the commissioner of the U.S. sports league said on Thursday.

"I've said this all year and I'll say it again, we're living in the most difficult economic environment since the Great Depression," Bud Selig said to reporters at a meeting of owners in a hotel here.

"We don't live in a bubble," he said, acknowledging that some clubs he would not identify lost money this season.

The league's regular-season attendance fell 6.6 percent to 73.4 million in its recently completed season as consumers dialed back spending in the weak economy. The teams with the biggest declines were in markets that suffered from high unemployment, including Detroit, Cincinnati, San Diego, Oakland and the Florida Marlins in Miami.

Over the past year, most sports have been hurt as corporate backers also cut spending on tickets and sponsorships.

Selig did not say where league revenue would finish compared with last year's $6.5 billion, saying some areas of the business were down and others were flat. Helping baseball was the January launch of its TV channel, MLB Network.

However, a source familiar with league finances, who asked not to be identified, said revenue would likely finish about flat.

Selig said it was too early to say what demand was like for next year's tickets, but said his concerns about the economy have not eased.

"I haven't talked to an economist yet ... who would tell me why I shouldn't be as concerned," he said when asked to compare his feelings with last year at this time.

When asked about the sales process of the Texas Rangers, Selig said he is awaiting bids, which are due on Friday. He declined to discuss whether baseball would support owner Tom Hicks reconstituting his ownership group to maintain control of the team.

Three groups are interested in buying the team and analysts expect bids in the range of $500 million to $550 million.

Billionaire sports tycoon Hicks is working to satisfy creditors who in April declared his sports group, which also owns the Dallas Stars National Hockey League team, in default on $525 million in loans. Hicks separately owns half of the English Premier League's Liverpool soccer club.

TORONTO (Reuters) - Former Everton midfielder Predrag 'Preki' Radosavljevic has been appointed head coach of Toronto FC, the Major League Soccer team said in a statement on Thursday.

Radosavljevic, who coached Los Angeles-based Chivas USA to three consecutive playoff appearances, takes over from Chris Cummins. He is Toronto's fourth head coach in as many seasons.

Toronto FC has been one of MLS's most successful franchises off the field but the team have never had a winning season or qualified for the playoffs.

The 46-year-old Preki, 2007 MLS coach of the year, also enjoyed a successful career on the pitch becoming the only player to twice claim the MLS most valuable player honor.

The Belgrade-born ex-Red Star midfielder signed for Everton in 1992, playing 53 times for the Premier League club before leaving for Portsmouth. He joined Kansas City Wizards in 1996 and played at the 1998 World Cup for the United States.

Retired NBA star Jayson Williams has agreed to a plea deal that would send him to prison for up to three years for accidentally shooting a driver at his New Jersey estate in 2002, a person with knowledge of the case told The Associated Press on Thursday.

Williams, who retired in 2000 after playing nine seasons in the NBA for the Philadelphia 76ers and New Jersey Nets, was to face a retrial in January on a reckless manslaughter count.

The person, who was not authorized to speak about the case, told the AP on condition of anonymity that Williams is to plead guilty Friday to aggravated assault. Because a gun was used in the crime, Williams must serve at least 18 months in prison, the person said.

Several messages left for defence lawyer Joseph Hayden were not returned Thursday. The state attorney general's office, which has taken over the case, declined to comment on any aspect of the case because of a gag order.

Christofi's sister, Andrea Adams, said Thursday she was told by prosecutors this week to be ready to go to court Friday because a plea deal was possible. They offered no specific information on the deal, she said.

Adams has mixed feelings about a prison term of three years or less.

"I would like to see him do jail time," she said. "I don't know if that's enough time."

The plea deal would resolve all charges in a case that dragged out for nearly eight years.

Witnesses testified that Williams was showing off a shotgun in his bedroom in February 2002 when he snapped the weapon shut and it fired one shot that struck driver Costas Christofi in the chest, killing him. They also testified that Williams initially placed the gun in the dead man's hands and instructed those present to lie about what happened.

The defence has maintained the shooting was an accident and that Williams panicked afterward.

During his trial, the jury deadlocked on the reckless manslaughter count, acquitted Williams of aggravated manslaughter and convicted him of covering up the shooting. He was never sentenced for the coverup counts, pending the outcome of the retrial, and has remained free on bail.

The Star-Ledger of Newark was the first to report that a deal had been reached.

Williams had been offered pleas that would have called for him to serve less prison time, the person told the AP.

One of earlier offers, the person said, came just before a hearing last month on whether a racial slur used by a detective and other conduct by the county prosecutor's office should result in dismissal of the reckless manslaughter count and the coverup convictions. State Superior Court Judge Edward Coleman later rejected the defence's claim that, had they known about the slur, they would have changed their trial strategy.

MADRID (AFP) - A New York court Thursday backed the staging of the next America's Cup in the Spanish port of Valencia in February, but doubt still remains over the venue for the duel between defender Alinghi and US challenger Oracle.

The Supreme Court of the State of New York reached its decision after experts advised that the event can be "safely managed" at the site in mid-winter, when weather conditions can be unpredictable, according to a copy of the ruling.

Both Alinghi and Oracle have stated they are ready to hold their best-of-three multihull showdown in February in Valencia, where the Swiss team won the last edition of yachting's most prestigious event in 2007.

However, it was still uncertain whether the 33rd America's Cup can go ahead there as planned, or will instead take place in the Gulf emirate of Ras al-Khaimah.

Ras al-Khaimah was Alinghi's original choice for the event, but the New York court declared the venue invalid, a decision which Alinghi has appealed.

"It's Valencia in February unless the separate appeal over Ras al-Khaimah is successful," an Oracle spokesman told AFP.

The court Thursday also ruled in Oracle's favour on a number of technical issues.

"This is a victory for fair rules and common sense," Tom Ehman, spokesman for Oracle representative, the Golden Gate Yacht Club, said in a statement.

Alinghi said in a brief statement that the court "has brought a degree more certainty to the 33rd America's Cup today."

Alinghi and Oracle, owned respectively by Swiss biotech billionaire Ernesto Bertarelli and American computer billionaire Larry Ellison, have been locked in a legal battle over the event for more than two years.

Oracle first launched a legal challenge that accused Alinghi, which as defending champion is charged with organising the next event, of bending the rules to give it an unfair advantage.

The New York Supreme Court ruled in April that the Cup should be settled by a one-on-one multihull duel between the two sides next February instead of the traditional fully-fledged regatta with several teams.

But the two have remained in dispute over the venue.

NEW YORK - Top Rank promoter Bob Arum is ready to begin negotiations for a megafight between Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather Jr.

The only problem is that Arum isn't sure whom to negotiate with.

Mayweather has been represented in his past few fights by Golden Boy Promotions. Arum said Thursday that Golden Boy boss Richard Schaefer told him Mayweather is a free agent.

Top Rank represents Pacquiao, the Filipino star who stopped welterweight champion Miguel Cotto in a brutally dazzling display Saturday night in Las Vegas. The company represented Mayweather early in his career, but their relationship has become strained.

Pacquiao-Mayweather looms as the one of the most anticipated fights in decades if it comes together.

Warring:Major Security issue with ihub
C/P
hi all,

I going to address major security issue with opening ports in your router, using DMZ and disabling firewall.

First you need to do one of the above to get your ihub working correctly.

Now, the new architecture design by SV is setting ihub to be in Mixed mode, in wiznet when you scan for your ihub under Operation Mode, you will see that it's in Mixed.

what that mean's, mixed mod means ihub can act as server and as client, in other words it can accept incoming connection and initiate connection request.

the second design decision made is that ihub initiate one connection request to the server, then the server capture the ip address and port number send by the ihub, then calls back to the ihub and connect to it, from their they can request all the data need it for control word(current channel, sat, etc..).

The risk:
if somebody knows your ip address and the default port for ihub (1920 or 80) , he can connect to the ihub remotely and control it, uploading bad data or as simple as initiating DOS attack, with an expert hacker, he can gain access to your network.

Your ISP can easily determine witch user is using ihub by doing port scan on their network.

Proof of concept:
find port checker on the net like Open Port Check Tool-Test Port Forwarding on Your Router
and enter your ip address (not the local one, your external ip address)
and in the port enter 1920 or 80 (get the port number from wiznet next to local IP) , you will see Port 1920 is open on <your ip> message and the connection made successfully.

Temporary fix:
1-use port 80, port 80 is standard port and it can be used for web hosting
2- use ssh tunneling to secure your ip and hide your ihub from you ISP.

PS.

as I am going to post this message SV released new bin, and they went back to the old design where ihub sending data to server and the server instate of the server connecting to the ihub, we are back to square one?? the security issue still exits. I think after they read this post they will release new bin for ihub it self.

Brazil appears on target for 6th WCup triumph
By ROBERT MILLWARD, AP Football Writer 55 minutes ago

LONDON (AP)—While football’s romantics may wish for a long-awaited first for Spain or a historic African victory on South African turf, the 2010 World Cup looks like being a sixth triumph for Brazil. Coach Dunga may have alienated some fans with pragmatic rather than typically Brazilian flamboyant play, but next year’s championship should end with another success for the World Cup’s most successful team.

The last six teams sneaked into the competition through the back door of the playoffs on Wednesday and the fact that France and Uruguay made it means that all seven winners will be in the field of 32 going into next month’s draw in Cape Town. The level of expectation will grow day by day until the teams arrive in South Africa next June for the biggest event of the world’s most popular sport.

England under Fabio Capello has its strongest hopes yet of a first win since 1966, Argentina hopes the Diego Maradona magic will rub off on its talented but underachieving players and two-time European champion Netherlands is out to show it finally has the ability to win a world title. While a mouthwatering final appears to be five-time winner Brazil against European champion Spain—the joint 9-2 favorites with British-based bookmakers William Hill—World Cups frequently throw up surprises.

Remember North Korea knocking out star-studded Italy in 1966, Cameroon beating defending champion Argentina in 1990, Senegal’s victory over 1998 champion France?
In the past three decades only one host—France in 1998—has won the title and that run doesn’t look like changing. South Africa, whose team has been in disarray after poor results over the past few years, is considered to be among the outsiders. But the talented Ivory Coast, which has the likes of Premier League stars Didier Drogba and Kolo Toure and in its lineup, is the leading contender to win on African soil.

For the likes of Brazil and Spain, anything less than the final will be considered a failure.
Under coach Dunga, often criticized for a lack of imagination and adventure, Brazil now has strength throughout the team and is far more than just a jumble of attacking superstars. Although Ronaldinho is struggling to get back into the team, Dunga has the likes of Kaka, Luis Fabiano and Robinho to unlock defenses and provide the goals in front of hard working midfielders and solid, reliable defenders.

Spain has its best squad ever with standout goalkeepers and experienced and hugely talented stars such as Xavi Hernandez, Cesc Fabregas, Andres Iniesta, Fernando Torres and David Villa all playing on the save wavelength. Michael Ballack remains the solid core of Germany’s lineup as it chases its fourth World Cup title but first since 1990. But the team lacks guile while the Dutch, twice runners up, will hope to shrug off its brittle form in major championships and rely on forwards Robin van Persie and Arjen Robben to bring home the title for the first time.

Under disciplinarian Capello, England won nine of its 10 qualifiers and has a solid look and probably its best chance for decades. Although he has the experience and talent of David Beckham, Steven Gerrard, Frank Lampard, Wayne Rooney and John Terry, however, Capello has a goalkeeper weakness while Rio Ferdinand’s fitness is now suspected.
With Maradona unable to transfer his greatness as a player to the bench, Argentina looked in danger of failing to qualify and only just made it.

Maradona, should he keep the coach’s job going into the finals, now has to get the best out of undoubted talents such as Lionel Messi, Carlos Tevez and Sergio Aguero to make an impact in South Africa. With its squad still filled with aging stars, Italy will struggle to hold on to the title and become the first back-to-back winner since Brazil in 1962.

The flip side of that is that Fabio Cannavaro, Gianluca Zambrotta, Gianluigi Buffon and Andrea Pirlo all know how to win to World Cup and that means the Italians can’t be discounted. Declining under Coach Raymond Domenech, France needed a blatant handball by Thierry Henry against Ireland to make it through the playoffs while Portugal coach Carlos Queiroz seems unable to get the best out of stars such as Cristiano Ronaldo, Deco and Ricardo Carvalho.

The United States have revived under coach Bob Bradley and, after reaching the final of the Confederations Cup in South Africa in June, will target the quarterfinals as a measure of its improvement. The Americans reached that stage in 2002, have reliable goalkeepers, dependable defenders and talented forwards in Landon Donovan and Clint Dempsey.

Australia hopes to justify moving to the Asian Confederation and underline its status as an emerging force in world football while Japan needs to make the second round to show it is a breeding ground for talented players. The same applies to African nations Cameroon, Nigeria and Ghana who will also measure success as reaching the knockout phase.

South Korea is back to try and emulate its semifinal appearance of 2002, when it was a co-host with Japan, and the North Koreans, among the 500-1 outsiders, might be dreaming of embarrassing the Italians the same way as in England in 1966.
Greece has made it for only the second time but, still with veteran coach Otto Rehhagel in charge, hopes to produce the same surprising success as when it won the 2004 European championship.

Mexico, Chile and Uruguay aren’t likely to get past the first round while, for New Zealand, Honduras, Slovenia, Slovakia and Algeria, simply being at the World Cup is a measure of success and anything they can achieve at the finals will be a bonus.
